The day after Daniel assembled the Orb, he visited the University of Cambridge and met with Professor Taylor in the hope he could gain more knowledge about the mystic relic.[2][3] Daniel carefully approached the Professor about the subject of the orbs, and Taylor informed him about the traces they had left in European culture.[2] Including the possibility they had inspired the Globus cruciger, a Christian symbol common in royal regalia.[2] Taylor then told him that, historically, the orbs were held by priests as a symbol of the sun and its power.[2] Sometime between then and July 17, he was killed by The Shadow.[2] It can be assumed that Taylor was an obstacle on the Shadow's path as well, as it was on his way to reclaim the orb from Daniel.
